This charming community takes its name from the nearby Three Sisters mountains. The peaks are a majestic backdrop to what’s known as Sisters Country, an expanse that includes the town of Sisters, Camp Sherman, Suttle Lake, Black Butte Ranch, Aspen Lakes Golf Course and Hoodoo ski area.
Sisters boasts seven different economic sectors including retail, tourism, arts & culture, natural resources and agribusiness, light manufacturing and industrial, real estate and development, and entrepreneurship. Each of these sectors is well represented and provides the Sisters Country with a well-balanced economic base.
As well, Sisters is emerging as an economic center for small and mid-sized companies, including Laird Superfoods. As interest in and availability of remote work has increased, Sisters has become a more attractive destination for professionals wanting a small town mountain lifestyle.
The Sisters School District has three schools and has been noted as one of the highest performing districts in the state.

You might say Sisters is a sleepy mountain town. Except during the peak of summer when visitors flock to enjoy the natural areas as well as events such as the Sisters Rodeo and the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show.
Just on the edge of town you’ll find 1.6 million acres of Deschutes National Forest laces with miles of trails, rivers, lakes and wilderness areas. With limitless space to explore there are a wide variety of adventures to be had all year long. There’s Hoodoo Ski Area, the Pacific Crest Trail, plus two exceptional golf courses.

Beyond outdoor recreations, you’ll find a wide variety of lively entertainment in Sisters. The annual Sisters Rodeo is one of the best in the west. Events like the Sisters Folk Festival and the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show bring visitors from all over the region. The pioneer spirit flows through the western facades of the buildings downtown and mixes perfectly with the wonderful dining, wine bars and art galleries that now grace the town.

Sisters is located in the central portion of Oregon, approximately 154 miles southeast of Portland and just about 30 minutes by car to downtown Bend.
